Most of us have one or another out of freely available barcode scanning apps on the phone, mostly based on Zebra Crossing technology.  These apps are probably OK for occasional use, but not standing with requirements of real world business application: instant scanning of multiple barcode types under variable angle, in less than optimal lighting conditions. Critical component

Gazpacho barcode scanning component was developed together with a company that pioneered barcode scanning through the camera almost two decades ago and leads the world in this area. It provides:

1. Scanning of most of widely used barcode types: EAN13, CODE 128 and CODE 39, QR, 2D Barcode and more.

2. Scanning under any angle (no need to align the phone and the barcode)

3. Scanning under even under mid-low lighting conditions.

4. Superior scanning speed.

But this is not all what it can do.One of our customers, one of the largest cosmetics distributor in Israel, once faced a problem while scanning some of the products made by PUPA, famous Italian cosmetics brand. Some of the packages (always of red color) came with barcode printed in blue instead of usual black. As a result, there was no enough contrast to identify the barcode stripes.

To solve the problem, our team added on-the-fly image processing before the scanning, in order to separate the colors and turn the color image into black and white, increasing the contrast, and thus making the scanning work as expected.
